Absolutely loved this book. This is the first Nicholas Sparks book that I have read, but I assure you it wont be the last. In fact I have brought another. This had lots of twists that you didn't necessarily see coming. The characters sucked you in to reality. Very very enjoyable read. Great for the summer holidays
In this book therexare 2 parts. The first one is really a beautiful love story. The story is heartfelt and lovely and you must fall in love with Colin and Maria. But then comes the 2nd part. The mystery part. And it is so bad I can't start to describe it. The story is all over the place but it isn't focused. There is the sexual harassment part that goes nowhere and leads to nothing but it is told while the stalker waits patiently for it to end. And the mystery isn't that mysterious and their are too many people solving it. And all Colin's special characteristics blows away and don't contribute nothing to the story line.
The mystery part is plain boring.
Mr. Sparks is a brilliant romance writer as you can see in the first part of this book, he should keep doing that and leave the mystery stories to someone else.
Maybe because my sister and brother-in-law rescued me after they moved to Wilmington and had me move out there with them for several years, that area holds a very special place in my heart. Although I've always read his books and loved them after living in the area he writes about in all his books makes them even more special...I think, yes I've been there and I know where that is, etc. What I remember most about this wonderful author was the first book of his that I read, every few chapters I would look at the picture on the back cover to remind myself that, yep, it's a guy writing this incredible love story...how could a man possibly have these types of insights into a womens feelings and heart? Mrs. Spartks you are a very lucky women!!!! Like all his books, this one brings you such wonderful characters with great storylines, enough to believe in love, sorrow, forgiveness, and faith in humanity if by chance you've forgot any of that recently.
In ‘See Me’ we meet Colin Hancock, a twenty eight year old who had a very aggressive an troubled youth. Now he is given a second chance in life, and he is doing his best to change his ways. Colin has started college, works hard for his money and works out more than three times a day. And above all he is getting his anger issues under control.
Maria is working hard in a respectable lawyers office. She studied hard all her life, visits her parents regularly and she is very close with her younger sister. To the outside world, Maria lives the perfect life.
Colin and Maria couldn’t be more different, but when life throws them together there is an instant attraction they can’t deny.

The thing with Nicholas Sparks his writing is that when you start one of his books you just need to keep reading until the book is finished. ‘See Me’ is no exception. From the very beginning, I was hooked to every page of this book. The setting is beautiful and the characters are very memorable. But what I loved most about ‘See Me’, is the way I really started to care for the characters and felt like I knew them. Although Colin doesn’t sound like a nice character when you first learn about his background, I really came to love him and especially the way he talks with people. Colin is honest against everyone and no matter what. Very impressive.
Maria is a character I could really relate to.. She’s ambitious, works hard and she can worry about everything. And when she meets Colin, she really doesn’t know what to think of him. She doubts herself and above all she doubts the way she feels. I really enjoyed reading about Maria and especially the way she interacted with her family.

The romance in this book is really sweet and touching and I really loved every minute of it. There is also a little mystery/thriller part going on in this book, and it really kept me hooked unto every single page.
Yes, this is definitely another great story by Nicholas Sparks. And have you looked at that beautiful cover yet? I definitely recommend this book.. It’s amazing!
Wow, it's hard to find the right words for this. Nicholas Sparks has always been the romantic, but this, was such a twist and magnificent. The mystery that evolved this story constantly kept you guessing and on your toes. The romance and love between family and friends was remarkable. I literally couldn't put it down. I've always loved his style of writing and this was different but had the same good wholesome aspects it always does, he stays true to himself but enhanced it with some mystery and I absolutely fell in love. Beginning to end you didn't know the final outcome and that is always intriguing! Stunned and sad it's over. Loved this book and now have a new found love for,the ever a,along writing of Nicholas Sparks! Thank you
Colin has many anger issues and has a hard time not being abusive. Maybe not abusive but physical. He works out constantly because it calms his anxieties. But above all he is honest. He also has a best friend, Evan.

Maria is a beautiful Mexican girl that comes to mean a great deal to Colin because she listens to his life story and cares for him anyway.

Mystery comes. Who is trying to hurt Maria? You must read this book. I do think this is Mr. Sparks first real mystery.
I was a little disappointed in this book. Did not seem to me to be what I expect from the author. The story was slow to start and seemed to go on forever before a plot was developed. The main characters were often not sure of each other so it seemed they were not sure what was expected of them. I have enjoyed many of Nicholas Sparks books but not this one.
